My Students

All year, my students have held to Winston Churchill's wise advice that one should, "Never, ever, ever give up." In the spring, students will be granted an opportunity to prove their fortitude by participating in the Eighth Grade Academic Olympics.

At Auburn Middle School, students take great pride in their school as well as their community.

The Auburn Middle School student body is an eclectic group of young people, often defined as individuals with an affinity for academics or by their success in athletics.

My Project

By participating in the Eighth Grade Academic Olympics, students will experience success through pairings of physical challenges and intellectual challenges. Students will be encouraged to work as a cohesive unit. They will be utilizing the variety of talents that they possess, not merely as individuals, but as a team. Each homeroom will transform a mural-canvas in order to create a team flag that embodies the class character. In addition, new screen printing materials will allow each homeroom team to take ownership of the Academic Olympics by designing unique team uniforms.

This experience is designed to prepare students for the rigors of high school while unifying them as a class.

The Eighth Grade Academic Olympics will empower the young people of Auburn. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration!
