Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A powerful way to begin learning about the world around you is to consider it from a variety of perspectives. One of the those viewpoints is through the lens of a microscope, allowing our students the opportunity to explore the most basic elements of our complex world.

Our students live in the southwest region of the United States.

Our region is primarily desert and we are surrounded by the reminder of times past. Much of our land shows the visible changes in our environment, topography, and the changes to our earth's surface. Our students love to explore and science is a subject highly regarded in our school community. We have nearly 1000 students ages 5-11 and our school includes an outdoor classroom to learn about our environment as well as a community garden where we can grow, sustain, and harvest each year. The opportunity to utilize microscopes on our campus will enhance our students' hands-on opportunities in a academic arena where we continue to learn and grow as a school community.

My Project

Children are curious. There are so many questions about how and why. Extending their learning opportunities and offering them the resources to learn first hand about the how and why of our world will inspire students in their continued quest for knowledge.

Our community is filled with the love for learning.

Help us continue to foster this love by supporting our school community and providing this wonderful resource, the microscopes, for our science-related programming.
