This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My middle school students are ery tech-savvy. They're constantly wanting to film their presentations, skits, and incorporate photos in lab reports. In yearbook club we are struggling with a camera that cannot take quality sports shots or photos in low-light areas.

I teach at a Title One school in a low-income area of Arizona.

My students are an ethnically diverse group. Our school is highly structured and focused on providing the best instruction, including a new push to integrate technology in the classroom. Our students enjoy technology, but do not have access to much at our school.

My Project

This camera I am requesting will be used not only in the after school production of our yearbook for years to come, but a valuable teaching tool in my science, reading, and math classes. Recently my students learned new tricks for creating PowerPoint presentations, and several students asked for access to a camera to upload original content. I would like to see them practice procedure writing with photos to illustrate their written directions. Last week, my reading class performed alternate ending skits for the poem "The Highwayman". Many wanted to film their skit, but we did not have access to a video camera.

I see this camera being used so often in my classroom, my team teacher's rooms, and in yearbook club too.

Your donation would provide equipment that would have an impact on the 130 students I work with this year, and thousands more in the years to come. I appreciate and thank you for your consideration.
