This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Please help restore our greenhouse with interesting plants!

My students have been working on restoring a 1980's greenhouse that has been abandoned for years.

My classes have been working in hot and now cold weather to maintain the plants we currently have during our unit of photosynthesis and ecology. A majority of my students are of low income families and rarely see a variety of plants. They love carnivorous plants as seen on Discovery, and it would be so motivating for them to continue learning in the greenhouse with these plants available.

My Project

Student will be able learn the taxonomy of plants and the different types of adaptations they have. Also, the soil equipment will help students take measurements in monitoring the different types of soil in the greenhouse in their science interactive notebooks.

Plants is a challenging topic for my freshman students.

Adding carnivorous plants to our greenhouse will definitely get their attention and motivate their learning in the classroom! Any contribution is greatly appreciated!
