This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My AP Statistics classes really want to get out and do projects. But without the supplies and calculators to do it we are stuck inside with theories instead of practice. My students heard about the ABC Family offer and decided that what they really want is to get outside and apply their learning.

My 60 students in AP Statistics are excited to get out and put their Statistics knowledge to work by doing projects and making posters.

Statistics becomes real when you are able to step out of the classroom and put your ideas for experiments and surveys to work!

My Project

The TI-84 calculators are needed for them to gain true mastery of Statistics and are portable and identifiable to allow them to take them out into the world and use them and the clipboards as the do experiments and surveys as well as when they are back in class doing analysis. Batteries are always helpful when you have calculators getting a lot of use! The crayons will help us make eye catching posters of the projects that we can display for the whole school to see.

This project is important because it means that not only will my students have met the AP challenge, but they will all have the tools to be successful as they approach the AP test in the Spring.
