My Students

Can you remember the first time you went in to a store by yourself and paid for your purchase alone, checked your total and made sure that you received the correct change? A school store is a great way for students to work on economic, math and life-skills!

I am working with a group of 12-15 able learner students in the area of math and creative arts.

I would like to challenge them by creating and opening a school store called the Lumberjack Shack. A school store is an educational resource for kids! My students will be picking up valuable skills in making change, figuring percentages, counting and inventory. Not to mention gaining valuable experience in leadership, responsibility, customer service, marketing,and teamwork.

My Project

The resources that I am requesting will give us a head start with our project. Making posters and signs, working with money and helping create a fun school store! My students will be challenged to create marketing materials and an atmosphere that is welcoming and will attract "buyers", our classmates and school friends to shop!
