My Students

Imagine having the best books available and being encouraged to read them! That is why we want to make these books available to our middle school students.

Our middle school is in a high poverty area and our students don't always have the funds to purchase their own books.

That is why it is so important to have great books in our school's media center. We want our students to meet their reading goals and to improve their reading skills.

My Project

The Young Hoosier Books are award winning books chosen each year for the state of Indiana. We promote these books each year and our students always enjoy reading them. We hope to be able to provide these books to our students again this year. Your donation will allow us to purchase them.

Each year we highlight the Young Hoosier Books in our school.

Students who read at least five of these books are invited to a free Subway lunch. They are then invited to vote on their favorite book from this list.
