This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

If you are like me I have a phone, computer at home, and use a computer at work. All of these can access the Internet to expand our minds. My students would like that opportunity as well. They come from homes that do not have computers and they are not exposed to the technology of today.

My students come from low income families and most do not have access to technology.

Several of our families walk up to 2 miles a day to attend school. The dedication of our families is amazing. They truly care about their childs' education. Our campus is unique because we have two separate buildings. The building next door has approximately 500 1st - 6th grade students and the building I am in has 200 Pre-k and kindergarten students.

My Project

The students in this classroom love to use technology because it is new to them. It is exciting to see them doing reading activities from one of the many educational websites and really learning from them. With these tablets I will be able to enhance their learning during centers to increase their knowledge in using technology to help build their skills. This opportunity would only be available at school for most of these students and will provide additional support to the classroom learning.

I really want to share the adventures you can find in technology with my students.

One way I can do this is with your help. I have 24 students in my classroom and I want to give them each the technology to learn with and teach them safe ways to use the Internet. Thank you for your help in these children's' future.
