My Students

I believe technology is a great learning tool and opens many doors because technology helps to reach many different types of learners. Although we use many kinds of technology in our school, we could benefit from additional resources

In my classroom, you will find a wonderful group of 33 second grade students.

You would see students who are learning English as their second language. You would also see students who learn a little differently and receive specialized services tailored to their individual needs, yet we all come together as one learning community.

My Project

In this project, I am requesting an Apple Macbook. This will be used throughout the day, everyday, for a variety of tasks. I am also requesting a compatible iPad in another project, so it is my hope that I would be able to use both of these resources to maximize the potential they have as learning tools. From having students access supplemental internet resources to preparing presentations for the whole class. Students will be able to use this technology to access websites and resources that can supplement their learning. Websites like; www.abcfastphonics.com, www.getreadytoread.com, www.mathisfun.com, www.funbrain.com, www.coolmath.com and more can be accessed to reinforce and extend learning in the classroom.

We all learn in different ways.

By providing additional technological resources, you will be helping students who will benefit from the vast amount of resources that can be found on the internet and put to use to help reinforce student learning.
