My Students

The students look at the board and groan, another novel to read? This one doesn't even have pictures. What these seventh grade students don't know is they are in for an adventure. In a climate where reading is often dismissed as boring, student need high-interest reading that will fully engage them.

The seventh grade students in my classroom are wonderful kids.

They come from all walks of life, and they bring all different experiences with them. The middle school houses grades 6-8, and I currently teach seventh grade. They are caught in the middle. Most students have a love of sports, school, and video games! They are hard workers who generally like to learn. This group of students would be honored to receive these books, and it is something that could truly lead them on a path to lifelong reading.

My Project

Do you remember the first time you read your favorite book? It is usually the first time that you realized reading can take on a life of its own, and transport you to another place. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is such a book. It grabs the reader and will not let go until the last page has been turned.

Buying these novels will ensure pages turning at break-neck speeds, lively discussions, and a love for reading that will last a lifetime.
