My Students

The digital world is in every business and most homes, but not in many schools. Students need to experience the digital world in terms of marketing to better understand current marketing. Digital is more than a computer, it's being interactive with all customers. Now let's interact with students.

Our school is a small town school living on a rural budget.

Our district has reduced funding each year over the past five years. Our students still expect the same challenges, but our district had to reduce most elective courses in the name of graduation requirements and test results. Our kids want more. They want to apply their learning and be involved in the learning process. Our students want more than another textbook, they want to be part of digital revolution. Our kids come from a range of income levels. With over 65% of students qualifying for free or reduced lunch, we are always trying ways to teach students that do not have what most students have at home.

My Project

My classes are fully interactive. My goal is to teach students how to become digital and use current digital tools in a learning environment. My request is for a digital tablet that will interact with all computers in my classroom. With the tablet, students will be able to give presentations, create apps, and demonstrate new marketing tools and trends to other students. A tablet will allow students to learn new means of communication and apply current marketing trends such as marketing with apps and video production.

This is the first step in creating an experience.

Students need connections to reality for true learning to become effective. Digital learning allows students to experience the now in marketing and promotion. We have software in place to interact with a tablet, but we need a tablet to make the connection a reality.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
