Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine that you are 5 years old and just want to play! You are expected to learn how to read and manipulate numbers up to 100 by the end of the school year. How would you want to learn?
My students of 24 students speak seven different languages and come from very different backgrounds.
Some students had pre-school but some did not. They range from ages 4-6. They are expected to rise above these challenges to master an increasingly difficult curriculum. They are lovable, fun kids who want to learn, but NEED to move around and play.
My Project
The products I am requesting provide sensorimotor learning experiences. With these supplies, the children will learn through kinesthetic learning. It has been shown that children at this age learn best through activities that engage their entire bodies...no sitting and lecturing allowed!!! :)
Through use of these products, my students will master the kindergarten curriculum by having a great time and learning the way kindergarteners were meant to learn-through active engagement and fun.
All students will have the opportunity to learn with rich, challenging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
