My Students

Help us share our thinking in Math and Literacy Workshops! These dry erase boards will do just that. The graphing and grid dry erase boards will help us meet our math standards in a fun and interactive way. They will also help us save paper and decrease our classroom waste production.

My twenty-eight fourth graders are an excited bunch of diverse learners.

They attend a great public elementary school that has been working hard to meet all of their needs. Seventy-two percent of our student population qualifies for free/reduced lunch. We speak five different languages. We come from many different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. My students work hard everyday to become better thinkers and problem solvers. Someday soon they will change the world.

My Project

With these new dry erase boards we will be able to create and inspect different kinds of graphs. We will also use them to help us find the area and perimeter of squares and rectangles and other shapes. We will use our boards to discover how arrays can help us solve multiplication problems. We will use the boards to collect data and analyze the results. We will use all of these boards to share our thinking in an interactive and efficient way. The markers are also essential in the use of the dry erase boards because they are so costly, and not all of my students can afford to bring them. We also hope to prevent un-erasable marks on the boards by using the wipes and spray to frequently clean our boards.

These dry erase boards will create a renewed sense of excitement and enjoyment in our Math workshop.

Also, we will finally have a board for every child in the class to use. Your donation will help us update a frequently used, but outdated, resource in our classroom!
