This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need access to digital cameras to have a meaningful understanding of computer graphics! Please help me make it happen!

I teach in the District of Columbia, an urban public school district.

The students I teach are in the 9th through 12th grades. I have the good fortune to teach some very motivated students, but we don't have all the resources we would like. The computer lab may soon be described as "antiquated" and getting funds for some new computers may become possible if we first build up the school's graphics program.

My Project

PICTURE THIS: Having digital cameras available to my graphic art students. I'm requesting 4 digital cameras so students have the freedom to choose to NOT use appropriated lo-res images from the Internet to photo edit and manipulate on the computer. A dialog about image quality begins. I do justice to an essential topic in the digital art world.

FINALLY picture what an opportunity my students will have being able to capture images from their own personal surroundings.

Students motivation and investment in their projects grows SO MUCH when they are allowed to tell their own stories, and share their own personal voice. Can you picture how well-served my students will be if you donate to this important cause?
