My students need 2 hot plates to conduct basic biology experiments throughout the school year.

My Students

Teacher: "Now class during this lab you will need to go over and measure the temperature of the water that is on the hot plate sometime during class." Student: "But it isn't hot because there is not hot plate to warm it up." Teacher: "Oh dear that is a problem isn't it?"

The students that would utilize the hot plate are mostly sophomores who are currently enrolled in my Biological Sciences of Agriculture.

There would also be upper upperclassmen that would be able to conduct experiments in agricultural classes. Students get more involved with their learning when they can have a hands on lab which gives them a better understanding of the materials.

My Project

We are requesting an electrical hot plate to help in conducting science experiments. This will provide the students with different opportunities to learn material that was once restricted from them due to the lack of this resource. With a newly founded Biological Sciences of Agriculture class we have limited supplies to provide learning within labs for these students. The students will now be able to have experiments where they have different temperatures of materials.

Without resources to deliver a lesson it is hard to provide the students with learning opportunities.

If this project is funded the students will be able to learn a variety of concepts that are not provided to them otherwise. Student will extend their learning into different aspects of the science world.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
