My Students

Computers and the Internet have unlatched the door to limitless ways of enhancing educational experiences. We are now in need of a digital projector to open that door fully.

I teach 68 intellectually gifted students who never fail to amaze me.

They are bright, compassionate, and eager to learn. They have so much to offer the world, but our small rural community has very little to offer them. We are a Title I school where most students receive a free or reduced lunch due to low household income. There are not many local businesses to help support our schools, and the few we have choose to support the city schools rather than us. Our district is also currently under conservatorship due to our financial state. Like all kids in America today, my kids love technology. However, we lack the new and innovative resources that are becoming common in other classrooms.

My Project

Having a digital projector will allow my students to access multimedia together. As a teacher, I will be able to enhance my lessons by projecting text, images, video, and online interactive simulations. My students will also be able to share products they have created with the use of technology such as PowerPoint presentations, digital stories, videos, and podcasts.

With all the focus on standardized testing today and raising those basic and minimal scores, gifted students are often given the back burner.

These kids have the potential to make a positive impact in the world. By funding this project, you will make it possible for them to learn and share in ways that are fun and engaging!
