My Students

My students have such energy and creative ideas! We are so limited in space that if we do a project with wet materials that need to dry, we have no place to put them so that we can continue to do our other learning tasks.

I have a delightful group of diverse Kindergarteners that come for a full day.

We have many that are just learning English (from many countries) and many who are getting free breakfast and lunch. (Our school is over 75% free meals.) They have few opportunities to work with paint and glue in their homes and I feel school is a place to expand their horizons and let their creativity soar! I need help to provide these experiences. I have used a lot of my own money to provide materials. I will ask for other supplies later.

My Project

My students need a drying rack and mobile organizer to be able to dry painting and gluing projects and store supplies for creating these projects. I hope to be able to share stories or lessons with students and have them demonstrate their understanding by creating art. They live in such crowded spaces with little money to spend on art supplies. I would love to be able to provide art supplies and instruction so they can create visualizations of that they picture in their minds. Our classroom is crowded and we need places to place our art as it dries. The rolling racks will give us a place for this as we move on to other subjects that are in our curriculum. The storage unit will be very helpful in storing supplies in a convenient portable way.

My children need to be able to create!!

They need to feel proud of their ideas and have a way to show their learning. They can't write their thoughts yet but art allows them to show their understanding in unique ways!
