Hands-on Learning Makes Math Fun

My students need an Upper Grades Math Manipulative Library, a Magnetic Math Manipulative Library, and a Magnetic Base Ten Set to aide in their learning. Students learn by seeing and doing, which they will be able to do with these items.

My Students

Every day I ask myself, "What can I do to help my students better understand our daily math lessons?" I love to allow my students to learn by seeing and by doing, and I can do this with hands-on math manipulatives.

I have 22 energetic students who are eager to learn.

Many of my students have struggles in math and often score low on assessments. My students attend a charter school in Delaware. Many of our parents have chosen our school to offer their children more academic opportunities. Many of our students come from families with low income and need all of the support that they can get. Students learn best by seeing and doing, this can become a reality instead of a dream with your help and with these manipulatives. With your help my students can move forward from their struggles and blossom and bloom into the wonderful scholars that they have the potential to be. Manipulatives can make learning easier and more fun for students in my classroom.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of math manipulatives, such as magnetic base ten blocks and math manipulative libraries that will offer students a variety of hands-on learning approaches to help with the topics of place value, fractions, decimals, percents, and much much more. These manipulatives will be offered to students in math class and in centers to better help them have an understanding of topics that we will be covering this year and topics that they have not yet mastered. These resources will allow my students to learn by doing and using their hands. My students will be able to master skills needed and necessary to become proficient in the area of mathematics.

Your generosity will help my students become more enthusiastic and eager about learning math.

You will also be assisting future 4th grade classes with these important and essential hands on materials.
