CD Player for Soundsystem is Broke, We Need to Perform!

My students need 1 CD player for our Soundsystem and 1 Beatles Set for our program.

My Students

My students have been terrified by the disaster of an EF 5 tornado. Music, thankfully, is helping bring us all back together. Our soundsystem's CD player was destroyed in the storm, and we are celebrating with the British invasion program the Beatles. We need a CD player and the Beatles CD's.

My students no longer have an appropriate CD player for their sound system.

We are doing a community project with a Beatles program. Our schools are high in poverty. We have had many new students due to the EF5 tornado that devastated Joplin on May 22nd. My students want to give back to the community, without a CD player in our sound system and Beatles CD we cannot perform our program. My students are AWESOME. They come from many diverse backgrounds. Some of them have a "defeated" feeling before they even come to school. However, when at school, I want them to feel alive and refreshed through music. I believe that the more items that I can offer for them the more that they can learn. I love teaching my students and the welcome the challenges that come with it. It is important for students to become involved in an activity; music is a great choice for students to fall in love with. You see, music is everywhere; this is one thing that my students and I talk about, how no matter where they go, no matter what they do, music is always there for them. My students need music and music needs them. I am excited to see their faces when they receive their new items to use in their performances.

My Project

This CD player and set of CD’s will allow my students to give back to the community they love. It will allow them to perform again in their school. They will be re-energized through what my classroom offers. Music will be able to motivate each student to give their very best. When you think of donating, think back to what music meant to you. Think of how music makes the world go around. The students are learning the importance of how music functions in their lives. We, at times, take music for granted. We need to remember that music will always be there for us. Our students will learn how to LOVE music and not ever take it for granted. They will learn how to be good citizens through music. They will also learn how to be a strong contributor to society through music. It is important for my students to use their new products to produce beautiful music. I am excited to see the enjoyment that they will get out of the use of these items. It will be exciting to perform for the community.

The number one reason my project is important is because it will enhance the lives of my students.

Children will be able to see that people do care about them and music. Music is something that is everywhere and at times is taken for granted. Through the use of these items, we will be able to perform for our community, to give back to those who have given so much to our school. This will be a great performance that the students will be proud of!
