This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Music is for everyone! For my 2 homeless students, being a part of our Strings program might not be possible.
Our school has 150 Strings students from 1st through 5th grades.
The students provide their own instruments and purchase their supplies to participate. For some students, this is not possible. Two of our homeless students would like to be a part of the program this year.
My Project
The money donated to this project will be used to purchase 2 violins, 2 Strings books, and 2 shoulder rests for the school to loan out to our homeless students. With these supplies, they will be able to remain in our Strings program! Not only will they learn how to play the violin, but they will learn how to express themselves through music, improve self discipline, develop friendships, and possibly develop a talent that could change their school career and their lives forever.
Homeless students deserve an equal chance to participate in a program that could positively impact their life forever.
Our 2 homeless students have been identified as students who are highly interested in Strings and highly qualified. Please consider making their dreams a reality!
