My Students

Kindergarten students need lots of hands-on-learning to keep them busy. I have just started teaching kindergarten this year. I have started in a new classroom, which means it was virtually empty and I have started from scratch.

Many of my students are learning at a fast rate of speed while some need review of the skills that have been taught.

We have been doing many paper pencil activities which is necessary but not all of the time. They need hands-on-learning activities that will keep them busy and interested in learning. I have many students who need to be moving around. I need to start station activities with the See and Solve Manipulative Kit, phonics games, sentence strips and pocket chart to give them this opportunity. I don't want them to feel as if they are on an assembly line creating the same thing day after day.

My Project

Students at this age are developing a love for learning and I want them to develop this in their first year as they should. This love for learning should grow throughout the school life. Hands-on-learning, fun and engaging activities will aid them in having school success.

This project is so important because these students are in a classroom that has very little hands-on-learning activities.

They desperately need this. I want them to be able to go to first grade with the skills and a love of learning they need for a good start.
