My Students

Can you remember the felling you got when you stood on the top of a mountain and surveyed the valleys below. Have you been to Niagara and heard the roar of the mighty falsl. My goal is to help my student experience these things and more through the pen a paper of the other and there ability to read.

Our school has a student population of nearly 1600.

We are located in the beautiful rolling hills of Indiana. Our location is rural with farms and woods all around our school. We currently house grade 5-8 of which I have all levels in my classroom. Our group is a mixing pot of peoples as we have and service a large diverse group in many ways. we have 3 girls and 12 boys. and a large spread of academic levels. Most of our children enjoy the education setting and love to hear someone read to them. This is a great thing that enables those children to travel and never leave the room.

My Project

We have requested the Scholastic magazine that we might have this a resource so the it will serve for some time. To me read information and learning is more important that the fact that is was recorded 6 months or a year or two earlier. JUst makes good resources. The down on the farms series is to compliment the field trips and locations we are able to visit during the year. This is a donation that will give for years to come if you decide to help with funding.

In today's economy it is hard to secure funds for most projects from the school corporation.

So I have had to look outside the school system for funding. This project and funding is important to me as I think it is very important that everyone experience reading.
