My Students

Do you remember when your mom would read you a story each day? What a feeling to curl up together on the couch under a blanket and listen to her voice as she shared an adventure with you.

My students need books and Cd's so that they can explore the world around them and learn to be fluent readers.

Research has shown that children become fluent readers by listening to a fluent reader. Many of the students in my school do not have access to books at home. By providing them with books and Cd's my students will have the opportunity to hear fluent readers as they explore the world through literature.

My Project

My students will be able to participate in our school's Read a Million Minutes campaign which is a challenge that our whole school reads one million minutes this year outside of school. Providing these books and Cd's will give my students the resources they need to "read" outside of school.

Donating to this project will provide my students the opportunity to explore the world of literature and learn to love READING!!

Funding this project will give my students a chance to bring home books and "read" them by listening to them. Even if there is not an adult available to read to them, they will be able to participate in our school's Read One Million Minutes program.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
