Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How do you foster students to think creatively? You have to give students the tools and acceptance of being creative. It's hard to do when public schools are in a budget crisis. EVERYONE is intelligent. Just how you are intelligent is the big question.

My students attend a Title 1 school.

We only offer P.E., library, and music class for the special areas. Classroom teachers foster all other intelligence's. Having limited resources makes it hard to foster the art, sculpting, and creating using technology. My goal is to obtain tools and materials so that my students will develop all intelligence's so they can compete in the job market later in life. Opening the door to creative intelligence lets children understand that everyone is intelligent in their own way. I really hate depriving an artist of tools to prefect their craft.

My Project

I am requesting rubbing plates, stencils, clay tools, wireless keyboard, and SD memory cards to allow the students to take the knowledge and foundation of their learning and turn it into a creative output. For example, when we study insects they may choose to paint or mold the life cycle. Giving students the ability to explore all types of intelligence will help them develop cognitive, social, emotional and sensory-motor skills. Being exposed to and being allowed to be creative will also give students the opportunity to show that they really internalized. Putting these materials like clay tools, stencils, SD cards to put in our camera will allow my students to be prepare for the future.

Having students learn that everyone has a form of intelligence will help them become better citizens.

I want my students to know and understand that intelligence comes in many forms. Helping them express themselves in a variety of ways will in turn create creative people for the workforce that needs creative workers for any and every situation they are presented with.
