Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

IMAGINE. This word is embroidered into my students shirts that they wear each day. My school's commitment to building community and inspiring social justice is the foundation for educational magnificence; one of the ways my students contribute to this work each day is through our Writing Workshop.

Within a neighborhood filled with poverty, homelessness, and crime lives a 100-year-old school, filled with love, sunshine, and kindness.

This "diamond in the rough" is a safe-haven for so many children who are eager to wonder and learn with smiles on their faces.

My Project

Flair pens are an amazing product for young children when they are both writing and drawing. They flow much easier on paper than pencils do, so writing is less strenuous. As a result, their handwriting and drawings are neater, they have more stamina, and enjoy the writing process much more. In our class we also use black pens for drafting and publishing, blue pens to revise, and green pens to edit. The kids TOTALLY get it, and it's such a helpful teaching tool because I can see their process at a glance.

Flair pens will be a fabulous addition to my class's writing workshop.

There is so much value in using these flairs, the only problem is, they're super expensive! You can help the kids by giving them pens that will enable them to write comfortably and with stamina. Please help my students live writerly lives!
