Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a second grade teacher. We are of limited resources both in the school and in the classroom. Currently, 90 percent of our population is on free lunch. Our students cannot afford to have a computer at home. There parents do not have the skills to take them to the library and use those resources. We use the program Nettrekker to research a lot of topics during the school year. We are only able to print copies only in black and white and on a limited basis. I would like my students to be able to print what they need to do the best job they can in their classroom presentations. It would be great to be able to present to the parents a finished project, especially in color. The copier would also allows us to immediately access the information we need without having to wait for our turn at the school copier, which is located at another room. I am very proud of the projects that my students are able to generate despite the fact that they are only second graders. It saddens me to have to tell them that they cannot print what they need in color. Black and white is what we have to settle for right now. Hope that you can make our small dream come true.
