My Students

"To Project and Serve" will serve a multitude of students with a wide range of learning styles and abilities to connect with the content in a modern, dynamic, interactive and memorable format. The more opportunities that students have to visualize what is being taught, the more they learn & remember

The fourth grade students at our school are in the middle.

They are the oldest elementary aged children and will be the youngest in the middle school next year. During the nine months they spend with us working hard on academics, much time and energy is also spent on character development in preparation for the challenges that are inherent in adolescence. Any opportunity that we have, as teachers, to highlight successes is celebrated. Each of our students has so much insight, creativity and enthusiasm to share. By utilizing a PROJECTOR in our classrooms we would be able to present content and curriculum in a format that would engage the students while also providing a platform for the students to utilize to showcase their many talents.

My Project

In my years of teaching I have found that bringing a camera to class is the single tool that easily enhances ANY lesson. When students know that what they are doing is going to possibly be captured on film, they light up! It is such a simple and authentic way to approach a project and easily elevate the level of student involvement. So much of the learning in our class environment is cooperative and in small groups. I am always walking around visiting the groups with my camera in hand. If my students knew that these images were going to be "PROJECTED" for all to see, I know that they would put in that extra effort. During our fall and spring conferences, students have the opportunity to show parents what they have been learning in class. Our students would be SO excited to turn on the projector and describe to their families the learning that they are seeing. This technology would give these kids the edge they need to visualize their own future success.

Our school focuses its resources on developing the whole child: academically, socially, emotionally and physically.

We do not currently have much technology in the classroom, which hasn't necessarily been an issue, however, by providing a PROJECTOR we could easily introduce a multi-media tool with high impact at a low financial entry level.
