My Students

As great as Superman is, his biggest weakness is Kryptonite. As fantastic as my students are, their most challenging limitation is illiteracy. Help me empower these early learners with the gift of reading!

My students are highly energetic and very much engaged in the learning process.

Each day at school is an adventure, discovering and conquering new material. Unfortunately, 100% of my class receives free or reduced lunch. This means that the socioeconomic status of every single student is at or below the poverty level. This translates to those students having limited to no resources and/or opportunities to help them become proficient in their academic endeavors. In fact, our school's student population of 500 is at least 98% impoverished. These sad facts, however, do not hinder their motivation. All that is needed are the proper learning materials to ensure academic success.

My Project

This project seeks to provide quality resources that teach and reinforce the alphabetic principle and phonics instruction. Mastery of these skills is sure to produce fluent readers and, ultimately, life-long learners. I have ordered uppercase and lowercase tracing letters, alphabet games, send-a-sound phonics games, and pop & match phonics games.

Partner with me in training our children, perhaps, the most valuable skill they'll ever learn - reading.

Your donations will furnish our Language Arts and Reading Centers will quality, award-winning resources that will teach fundamental reading skills that my students will use across the core content areas of Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. This project will give students the tools and confidence to achieve literacy and so much more. Thanks, in advance.
