What a Quizical Way to Learn!

My students need interactive CD-Roms and timers to use on the classroom white boards to teach test taking strategies in an interactive and exciting way!

My Students

We spend hours every day preparing our students to take tests - and do well on them; but how much time do we spend teaching HOW to test? This interactive software that can be used on classroom smart boards will help to do JUST that - teach our students HOW to test, and teach it interactively!

I teach in a title one school of low income students.

Our school receives universal free breakfast and lunch, and now we receive snacks daily in the classroom as well. More than half of our students are english language learners. Our children LOVE learning and LOVE learning through technology!

My Project

I am requesting three math test instruction CD-Roms, three reading test instructional CD-Roms and one set of timers to help the students learn to pace themselves. These will be used on the Smart Board for whole group instruction for learning test taking strategies and then the students will be able to access it independently for online test practice.

So much of how we teach at my school is hands on and interactive.

Each classroom in my school has a smart board and teachers use this to create highly visual and engaging lessons that are interactive. Our students do a lot of hands on manipulation in both math AND literacy. Unlike classrooms of years ago, test taking is not always the first choice when assessing knowledge acquisition. In April though, this is exactly what our students are expected to do. YOU can help us bridge this gap!
