My Students

Remember when "tablets" were for writing compositions? Now a Tablet is a whole new computer experience, with an interactive touchscreen and countless applications, including the ability to download thousands of books. I would like to expose my students to this exciting and new technology.

My fifty eighth grade students and fifty ninth grade students attend a rural school in a town of 2700.

We are a pre-k though twelfth grade building. Most of my students do not own and have never used a tablet or iPAD technology. Our school uses the AR (Accelerated Reader) Program to encourage students to read. I would allow students to use the Tablet to read during AR time. Additionally, with the thousands of apps available to Androids the educational possibilities are endless.

My Project

Do you remember the first time you used a cell phone, or even an iPhone? Having a Tablet in the classroom will be a new experience for most of my students. I plan to use it both for educational purposes in the classroom and as a reward. I will allow individual students to use the Tablet during AR time every day. Both my eighth and ninth grade students will benefit from this new technology.

Having a classroom Tablet will be so cool!

My students can use it everyday; and the educational opportunities will be endless. Our local library has eBook access; so imagine all the books I can load on the Tablet. That is just one of the countless ways the Tablet will enhance my classroom.
