This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My classroom is my second home. This is one of the ideas I like to pass on to my students. But in order to do this I need your help with a few items.

I am a kindergarten teacher in New York City.

I work in a low income area where providing a good education is my main goal. With the budget cuts hitting my school very hard, certain things such as table and chairs have to wait for better times. This may be well for some people but you and I know these students will only be in kindergarten once. And everyone knows you learn most, if not all, your school skills in kindergarten.

My Project

The round table and four chairs will be used in the listening area . This is where the students listen to different types of literature that will enhance their reading skills. It will be used by a group or individuals during the day. Reading is a very important skill that all my students will attain by the time they leave my classroom. This will give them an opportunity to accomplish the needed skill.

My kindergarten students and I would like to thank you for helping improve our environment and providing us with a much needed resource.

A person's environment does play a major role in how they view themselves and those around them. Thank you for viewing us as important.
