Learning starts with being prepared, but what if you do not have the means to always be prepared?
My students want to learn.
There are many times that my students do not have what they need to participate in learning, though.
I teach in a high-poverty/high-need area of South Carolina. Right now times are tough for all of us, economically, but this is even more so the case for the families of a lot of my students. This coming school year is going to be difficult for many families.
On top of finances, I have students that do not have the organizational skills to keep up with materials. This is something we work on with them, but we need the materials to start with to help students learn how to keep up with them.
My Project
If I am able to start off the year with most of the supplies that students need (with a lot to spare), then this will take some pressure off of the families of my students and give them what they need to learn how to keep up with their school supplies.
By donating to this project, you will be helping me reach out to students and their families, while at the same time teaching students life skills they will need for reaching their future goals.
My students need materials like pencils and paper.
This is going to be difficult for families to provide. You can help me relieve economic stress and help me to teach students organizational skills they will need throughout their lives.
Please put your fingerprints on the futures of my students!
