Let's Learn Team Sports with Real Equipment - Part 2
My students need portable team sports equipment: real basketball hoops, soccer goals, baseball tee, kid's bats & bases to help them learn team sports - the right way!

Our students really love our Movement/Physical Education class two times every week. We enjoy active games, dancing, yoga & fitness activities. Unfortunately, space & budget limitations have not allowed us to buy real sports equipment.
As a successful early childhood school, we provide a nurturing, yet rigorous community of learning.
Over 90% of our Grade 3 students performed at Level 3 or above on the New York State English Language Arts and Math Assessments - reflecting continued strong performance even against higher testing standards.
We are a Title I, NYC Public School - nearly 60% of students qualify for free/reduced lunch.
Our commitment to differentiated instruction supports students of all ability levels in every classroom by integrating:

● Students with Special Needs ●
● General Education students ●
Our community is quite international with almost 70% of our students coming from homes where English is spoken as a second language. One-fifth of our students receive extra support for learning English. We also provide communication materials to parents in 4 home languages (English, Chinese, Spanish & Korean).
My Project
Our Kindergarten through 3rd Grade Students should learn about classic team sports with real sport-specific equipment. Imagine trying to learn how to play soccer without actual goals/nets or basketball without real hoops to score in!
These soccer goals, basketball hoops, baseball tees, bats & bases will be a tremendous addition to our gym time. Most of our students are just learning the skills and rules of these sports for the first time, so having the right equipment would be quite nice!
Keeping our students physically active is important for their health and well-being. By playing REAL TEAM SPORTS, our students will learn critical life lessons about TEAMWORK, GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP and PERSEVERANCE.
In our 'concrete jungle' of New York City, there aren't as many opportunities for kids to 'just play' sports. The costs for after-school & weekend programs can be too much for organized sports, so we hope that our school can provide this education as part of our movement class.
Our students are dedicated & inspired learners, who deserve the materials to help them succeed in all areas of their education.
They are doing their part every day. Over 100 children - nearly 30% of all students - achieved PERFECT ATTENDANCE through the 1st half of the school year...in NYC...in this awful winter!
Our other sports' requests include: pack of REAL, youth-size balls for basketball, soccer, football, baseball, softball and more specialized balls for our students with special needs.
