My Students

Do you remember what it was like when we did not have an abundance of technology in our lives? If you do then you can vouch for how much technology enriches education. If you don't then please sympathize for my students because the most technology they have access to is a telephone and TV.

My students are learning English as a second language.

They are high poverty students who have very little access to technology. To add insult to injury we even lost our only classroom computer. I want to change that by giving them an opportunity to use technology on a daily basis. I want to integrate 2 iPod touches into my classroom to change their lives forever.

My Project

If we receive these 2 iPods my students will be able to use them to reinforce the reading skills they are learning by reading & listening to e-books. They will also use them to play phonics & academic games. Finally, I will also use the iPods to record students writing stories & play back to the class. I feel this will give my students more confidence & help them to be more successful in their academic life.

I feel this project is integral to the success of my students.

So much of our lives now involves technology. My students are at a disadvantage because they don't have that resource. If we receive these iPods I feel we can begin to change these children lives forever.
