My Students

Until this year teachers in my school district had assistants to help teach small groups, to make copies of worksheets, to prep art projects, and to sort assignments and art projects for each child to go home. Those days are long gone and now I have to do it all.

My school has high levels of students who speak a different language at home and high levels of poverty.

But my class also has high energy and high enthusiasm for learning. They love to read everything they can get their hands on. They love to write stories about their families and friends. They also love solving math problems and creating works of art to show their thinking. This class makes me love being a teacher!

My Project

I would like to have a mailbox and letter sorter for my classroom, with enough slots for each child. By having this piece of furniture, the kids can put their papers into their individual slots after they are finished with the work. I will be able to quickly look it over before it goes home at the end of each day. This will eliminate the need for me to physically sort their work each day and waste valuable teaching time.

By helping fund my project, you will ensure that the valuable time I spend with my students will be used to the fullest and my students will be learning each minute.

I will be able to meet with more students one on one to help them hone their skills instead of sorting papers at the end of the day. This mailbox and letter sorter will really help my classroom get organized and will help me be a better teacher in the long run.
