Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Let technology be a part of students life right from the beginning...Kindergarten!!! Chalkboards, pencils, paper, crayons although still essential materials, today's classrooms need computers, LCD projectors AND iPads!!

I am privileged to teach 20 Kindergarten students.

They are eager and excited to learn. My students attend a large public school and come from low income households. Most students are learning English as a second language and are attending school for the first time. They don't have many opportunities to participate in technological activities outside of my classroom. Due to the lack of funds at our public schools there are no funds to get items like iPads and for classrooms.

My Project

I would love to provide my students with an engaging and motivating iPad! My students would benefit from the new and exciting technology to keep them engaged and interested in lessons. Having an iPad would provide my students with unlimited resources to encourage new science and math and literacy skills. The iPad has so many applications that pin point specific needs and my kids would be able to use them accordingly. Having the iPad would maximize student-learning interest and maintain the students' attention and focus. There is no limit to the possibilities an iPad would give to our classroom.

Today's children are growing up in a media driven world and often are not provided with opportunities to keep up with it.

By providing my classroom with an iPad, my students will have the opportunity to enhance their learning. An iPad would create a whole new experience for learning for my students.
