Completed: Color our Classroom with a Color Printer

"I teach 22 1st grade students in Ponchatoula Louisiana. We have 63% of students receving free or reduced lunches at our school. My classroom is in great need of a new color printer and some ink catridges. This new printer will benefit all students in my classroom. They will all get to print from ... " MORE

Kids love to print their work out on the computer because it makes them take pride in their work. Having a new color printer would give the children in my class the opportunity to add pictures to stories they type. This would then make the students work harder on their work. This new printer would give the children an opportunity to type their stories and pictures.

The students would also be able to make a memory book at the end of the year that will have different memories from them being in first grade.

I also do a lot of computer programs with my students. We would be able to do a program taht I love to do with my kids called Kids Work Deluxe. The students get to make booklets and get to illustrate their pictres. But without having another color printer in my room it is impossible to have all of my students particiapte. A new color printer will also allow some of our crafts that we do for our parents throughout the year to be possible .

I hope that you consider funding this color printer for our classroom. My students and I will be very appreciative.

I am so excited to be receiving this color printer. I want to thank you so much for being so gracious with your money especially during this holiday season. Your generosity is so appreciated. This new printer is definitely going to color our classroom. It will give the children in my class opportunities to do more on the computer and to be able to print out more things.

On Mar 11, 2008, Ms. D. followed this note with student letters sent via mail to the donor who completed this project, and to donors who gave $100 or more.
