I am the librarian at Woodlake Elementary School in Mandeville, Louisiana. We are located in St. Tammany Parish, just above Lake Pontchartrain. Our school board is unable, at this time, to replace our damaged and lost equipment. The computer equipment not directly damaged suffered mildew and mold which destroyed them. If I could acquire more computers for use in the library media center, they would be used by all 700 plus students and 70 plus staff members. Parents and community members would also be invited to utilize them. Our students are Pre-Kindergarten through Third Grade. Many of our students have special needs which have been identified and need computers to communicate their abilities. Computer Literacy skills are a necessity for these students, not a luxury. They absolutely deserve to be prepared to meet their future with every advantage of students elsewhere. Please help us to make our library computer lab a reality. We would all be so grateful.
