Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Technology runs our world today, unfortunately for my students we have very little in my classroom.

My students are a group of wonderful 12th graders at a public school in Philadelphia who are trying to transition to college.

These students live in a poverty stricken area of Philadelphia and for many of them they are trying to be the first generation that attends college.

My Project

Having this computer will make life a lot easier for my students applying to college and scholarships. While our school does have computers, they are not always accessible to my students when they need them. Having a computer in my room will encourage my students to stay after school to fill out applications. I also hope that some of these books will show them that learning can be fun and possibly spark an interest in their learning.

This project is important because next year is a very important year for my students and I want to make sure their transition from high school to college will go as smoothly as possible.
