Mrs. Ivory from Saint Louis MO is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need and LCD projector to supplement our lessons in Literature.

It is imperative that students are exposed to technology in the classroom on a daily basis.
I teach 11th grade students in a high needs urban school in Missouri.
Our school and our supplies are old, but the students and teachers have learned to use what we have to our advantage. My students are extremely bright, and in some cases extremely motivated; however, they are ill-prepared for the rigor of a college classroom. Some students have come to believe that because they don't have the technology and supplies that other schools have, they are not capable of the other school's level of work. The students want desperately to succeed, but they lack the confidence in themselves.
The goal of my 11th grade English class is to prepare my students to succeed in a college class. As a teacher, it is a struggle to capture my students attention and connect what we are doing in class with their lives. Using an LCD projector, I will be able to bring news clips and video clips to supplement our instruction and make it more effective and engaging for the students.
It is imperative that teachers and staff at my school are doing everything we can to supplement our instruction and make it as effective as possible.
For my students, this is the last chance they will have to succeed and create a better life for themselves. Using a projector allows me to include media and technology into a literature class and make it more valuable for every student I teach.
