My Students

Do you remember how exciting it was to be able to write on the board? My students all need the opportunity to work out problems on the board at the same time and to manipulate the shapes we are talking about.

My students are mostly ninth and tenth graders from a large high school in Texas.

They are highly involved in extracurricular activities and care about their grades. My students inspire me to be a better teacher and to do my best to be a mentor to them. My students are smart, active participants in class.

My Project

All of my students like to answer the questions I ask in class, but unfortunately only one student can answer a question. By having a mini white board for each student, my students will all be given the opportunity to answer my questions. My students will also get the immediate feedback that is often necessary for them to be successful in Geometry. The white boards will inspire my students to be more active participants in class. The polygon blocks will allow my students to see how different shapes are related to one another and how shapes can be combined to form other shapes. My students will also be able to create tessellations and tiling patterns by being able to physically place the pieces next to one another. The compasses will allow my students to create perfect circles and constructions. The compasses will also allow my students to inscribe polygons inside of circles and to see the relationships between the figures.

By donating to our classroom, you will help inspire my students to put forth their greatest effort in class and to get the most out of our class.

You will also be providing them with the necessary supplies to be successful in Geometry. The best way for students to learn is to provide them with hands-on activities. These supplies that I am asking for on behalf of my students will greatly improve their hands-on experiences.
