"Picture Teaming Home Involvement & Students!

Integrating technology in the classroom is a significant challenge because of limited resources. Students respond to well-planned, interesting lessons. The lesson I propose is for students to capture photographs of geometric terms in their daily lives. The project is similar to other projects that use digital cameras to document the vocabulary terms and to submit a presentation, either electronic or on poster board. The twist on the photographs is that the student must have photographs of a parent or guardian pointing to the vocabulary term. For instance, the geometry term triangle could be captured as a game piece, a food item, etc. The project's main expense will be for cameras (for those who do not have access to a reliable camera). The project needs cameras which would be shared among the students who do not have access to one. I have access to a few digital cameras and some of my students have access as well. This project can be duplicated every year for the lifespan of the cameras. The students will use their photos to complete an electronic presentation or a posterboard project. The project is a new twist on learning definitions for math class terms that are used throughout the entire school year. It also creates student involvement that teams home involvement, which is not always accomplished at the high school level.

The cost of 9 Digital Cameras from Nasco is $547, including shipping and fulfillment.

Dear Vicki, SHERRY, . and Anonymous Donor,
Thank you on behalf of my students and school. Your kindness in giving so generously is deeply appreciated. Please know that by funding this project, you have a part in impacting the future! Without caring donors like you, some classroom resources are out of reach for educators. Words cannot truly express the appreciation we have for you, so please know that you are making a difference in the lives of today's youth.
With sincere gratitude,
