Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are trying to change our out of date photography program from film to digital, but we don't have enough cameras. Our students deserve to work with up to date technology, but we are working with limited resources.

Our school is a magnet school for the arts.

Every student in the school has auditioned to be here, and they all major in one of the visual or performing arts. All of the students in the class have an interest in photography. We have students in grades 5-12, and we are in an urban setting.

My Project

I am requesting a Nikon digital camera. I have been pulling together cameras from different people who have donated or let me borrow them, and I have even purchased a couple my self, but we are still short. We are trying to get together at least enough cameras that half the class can use them at once, and then they can switch.
