My students need various sustainability experiments that use tapwater, landform model makers, and 2 geography overhead kits to help study earth's water resources.
Environmental responsibility and everything "green" is the current focus of my school's science curriculum. As a part of the team of teachers attending professional development in water conservation and sustainability, it is my job to teach my students to care for their environment.
I teach in a densely populated urban environment.
My students do not get the chance to explore science concepts and theory on their own. Therefore I try and create interactive learning centers that will help my students acquire the scientific skills they need to master our state content standards.
My Project
The materials I am asking for will help to bring the concept of clean water and environmental awareness to my students in a meaningful way. Seeing the real thing is always a preferable method of teaching any science concept, and the water experiments, models, and maps I am asking for will allow for a higher level of learning that no photograph or textbook passage could offer.
My state has yet to provide meaningful curricula on sustainable issues of the environment.
Please help me bring my students closer to a reciprocal relationship with the earth and our most precious natural resource-water.
