My Students

Do you remember the joy and happiness you used to feel as a child coloring pictures? Having the necessary materials to help students be more creative in their classwork is vitally important in helping them be successful!

I teach a highly culturally and racially diverse student body who share poverty as a common denominator.

We have greater than 75% of students receiving free or reduced price lunch. Many of our students do not have the basic school supplies needed to be successful.

My Project

Having the materials needed to allow my students to be "colorfully" creative would benefit them tremendously. They enjoy opportunities to work hard and highlight their projects with color. My students are often given the chance to complete other class assignments when we have finished our lesson and there is a small amount of free time left during our class period. These materials would also allow them to complete other projects with color!

Over 75% of my student population are living in homes below the poverty line in our state.

Having extra school supplies is not an option afforded them in this situation. Small items such as color markers or pencils cannot be afforded, therefore being able to provide the students with these materials would be greatly beneficial and appreciated.
