"Hello! I teach kindergarten in a rural Title I elementary school in Knightdale, North Carolina where a large percentage of our students receive free or reduced lunch. According to our state's physical education policy, students in kindergarten through 8th grade should have at least thirty minutes of daily physical activity.
Our school has plenty of land, but limited playground equipment. Currently our school has one jungle gym for kindergarteners to use and another jungle gym for grades first through fifth to use. I wish to offer students an alternate way to develop their gross motor skills.
I wish to purchase a parachute, a number ring toss game, alphabet activity balls, and a Lakeshore Active Play Kit (10 playground balls, 6 jump ropes, 10 color cones, 6 game hoops, 18 color and number beanbags). These materials will allow the children to better develop their gross motor skills during outside time and work on building language arts/math skills. Since the materials will be shared with the other members of my team each year, countless students will benefit.
When the school year is over, the materials will have helped the children battle obesity and the dreaded "I'm bored. There is nothing to do", disease. The children will learn to use a variety of equipment pieces, develop their gross motor skills, become physically fit, and work on math/language arts. Thanks for taking the time to read my proposal.
My project needs a Lakeshore active play kit, a rainbow parachute, a number ring toss game, and a set of alphabet activity balls. HIDELive Updates
