A Space to Grow in Sunny California!

My students need an outdoor picnic table to provide them with an outdoor education center. As our classroom size increases we need more space to extend the classroom.

My Students

Our school is a wonderland of vegetation and wildlife. I want to create a place where the students can observe, sketch, write, and appreciate their environment.

We have one of the most successful schools in the LA magnet program.

We are located within walking distance to the Ballona Wetlands and the Pacific Ocean. We provides a unique educational experience for students drawn from across the entire Los Angeles area. We were just recently awarded the Title I Academic Achievement Award by the California Dept. of Education.

My Project

My students need an outdoor picnic table to provide them with an outdoor education center. As our classroom size increases we need more space to extend the classroom. Due to the increase in class size, my students need room to grow. This outdoor patio will provide an area for them to: have a private space to work with the parent volunteers and student tutors, work in small groups on projects across the curricular areas, share a book with a friend, have lunch with your teacher, have a pleasant place for parents to wait before conferences.

This outdoor patio will open up the minds and hearts of my students to the wonders of nature.
