My Students

In our global society we are faced with the challenge of competing with the world for jobs. We need to teach our children to think out of the box and teach them about different cultures so that they will be ready to face these challenges with knowledge and creativity!

My students are eager to learn about new cultures and people, especially the Chinese culture.

We have a special relationship with a school in China, and we have a student exchange program. My students want to learn as much as they can about the Chinese culture so that they can better understand the students they meet.

My Project

Through making the Chinese lanterns my students will learn so much. They will learn about the Chinese culture and make something they can take home as a memory of what they have learned. During a program called "The Evening with the ARTS" my students will be able to create these paper lanterns. The program will be held during the evening and involve the whole school community. Children and their families will work together to create art and learn about the Chinese culture. Each person will be able to create a lantern using their own personal creativity and style. Student art work will be on display, and musical performances will be on going throughout the evening. All work will be focused on the Chinese culture.

We can make a difference in the world by learning the cultures of many people.

My students will be one step ahead in leading the USA in the global connection!! My students will use their creative energy along with their family and friends in order to make art and Chinese lanterns. They will be able to take them home and enjoy with everyone.
