My Students

My students are in a specialized program that focuses on teaching life skills.

I am teaching in a specialized resource room.

The students in my classroom have severe and profound disabilities. We are focusing on teaching life skills to students so they can participate in society as independently as possible. My students range from grades K-5 and surprise me everyday!

My Project

My students love listening and playing musical instruments. I believe that integrating arts into the curriculum in as many ways possible is important as an educator. I have requested safety signs because we will be doing a unit on traffic safety and practicing those skills in the community. I am also requesting a cash register so students can practice money skills.

This will be my second year teaching in a new school district and I have many ideas to integrate fun materials into valuable learning experiences. This donation will help my students be more independent in the community and have fun while learning to do so!
