Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Theft deprived our students of the technology they use everyday. In February, during President's Day weekend, all the classrooms were broken into and all electronics were stolen; LCD projectors, wireless presenters, calculators, digital cameras, and laptops.
Technology is integral to student learning these days.
My students are from a Title I school and over 80% receive free or reduced lunch due to their economic status. My students love to learn and love technology even more. They face many disadvantages already and I want to provide as many opportunities for them to gain the skills they need for academic and perhaps economic success.
My Project
Students use technology everyday and when it is part of their learning, it becomes the hook that grabs their attention. They like to learn by using technology as a way to enhance their work. The LCD projector is a way to motivate my students to do class presentations and finish projects using today's software so that they are tech savvy outside of the classroom. This promotes more well rounded students with skills that they can use when seeking employment.
Please help me teach with the technology that is relevant to today's students.
The LCD projector allows my students to dive into projects; practice speaking and presentation; and use software such as PowerPoint or movie making to learn content.
